I grew up on a farm West of Tilden, NE. I graduated from Elkhorn Valley High School in 1999. I attended Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture after graduation and was a member of the NCTA livestock judging team from 1999- 2001. I graduated with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Diversified Agriculture with an option to transfer UNL. I decided instead to attend the University of Wyoming where I was on the Jr. Meats judging team for two semesters. Needing a change, I decided to move back to Nebraska and attend UNL to pursue (after some convincing) an agriculture education degree. I began my teaching career at Rock County in Bassett, NE in the fall of 2006 and taught for two years there. I then moved back to Tilden and married my husband, Charlie Schwartz and taught in Stanton for two years. The Elgin position opened up and have been teaching in Elgin since 2010. My husband and I have four children; Chase , 7, Brady, 6, Chaney, 4 and Luke 2. We recently built a new home 3 miles and a 1/2 mile South of Tilden. Charlie works full time as a foreman for Rutjens contruction and I as a teacher. Together we own and manage a a commercial Angus cow/calf operation with my father and brother.
